As part of West Yorkshire Liver Care ODN hepatitis C elimination initiatives and Community Liver Health Check programmes we have a dedicated Peer Support Worker whose focus is to engage and work with South Asian communities in West Yorkshire.
This role builds relationships with community leaders in Mosques, Gurdwaras, Temples and South Asian community organisations, to raise awareness about liver health and offers the services of our Community Liver Health Checks team for testing events in the local community.
We have developed our website to ensure it is accessible to different communities by providing the facilities to translate the information visible on the website into different languages including Urdu, Punjabi and Gujarati.
